South Bay Honor Band at Marymount California University

The South Bay Honor Band will launch into its first event on Saturday, May 16, 2015. The one day, seven hour honor band opportunity will take place at Marymount California University beginning at 10:00AM. Eligible students will experience a fast paced, intensive musical experience under the direction of  Maestro Steven Allen Fox, Artistic Director/Conductor of the Golden State Pops Orchestra, Music Director/Conductor of the El Segundo Concert Band and Band Director of the award winning band program at El Segundo High School. Maestro Fox will share his vast experience and knowledge of film music performance with the students in rehearsals aimed at an end of day “show-and-tell.”

Students will take part in large sectionals (Woodwinds, Brass and Percussion) with professional musicians from the Golden State Pops Orchestra and a one hour lecture with Maestro Fox about the possibilities and planning toward a career in music.  A pizza lunch will be included with the fee.   You will be asked to fill out an application. Once you have paid and filled out the application we will contact the teacher you list as a recommendation. If a recommendation is not possible submit a recording at the link provided in the application process. If the recommendation can not be verified or the recording not accepted a refund will be given.
